Fix it's 50394 and 50395 both report "does not apply to your operating system or application version".
Trying to run the above 'fix its' as found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314054 - entitled "How to configure an authoritative time server in Windows XP", but receive the message "This Microsoft Fix it does not apply to your operating system or application version", despite the fact that I'm running XP Pro SP3.

Hi LBuckingham,Why you are trying to run the “Fix it” tool? You may try to run the “Fix it” tool as an administrator & check if it works. To start a program as an administratorIf it doesn’t help, try to follow the manual steps given in the section ‘Let me fix it myself’ from the kb article.Hope the information helps. Hi and thanks for your reply.I needed to set one PC up as a time server to others on a small lan. I was on as administrator when attempting to run the fix it. When it didn't work, I made the changes manually. Still, I would rather have run the fix it. Any idea why the fix it would error in this way?CheersDarren

Hi Darren,The ‘Fix it’ tool given in the kb article seems to apply only to machine prior to Service Pack 3 (SP3) i.e SP2 or SP1.As you have mentioned, you have Service Pack 3 installed on the machine so the automated method mentioned in the 'Fix it' will not work. However, the manual steps are recommended for all the versions. Hope the information helps.RegardsDebleena SMicrosoft Answers Support EngineerVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
